Biography

James Baird Quinn was born on June 9, 1843. He graduated from the US Military Academy in 1866. Quinn rose from the rank of lieutenant to colonel in the US Corps of Engineers. He retired in 1907 and died on February 23, 1915.

Abstract

Notes copied form field books of 1872 survey of the Merrimack River from Newburyport to Ringbold Rock. Notes were taken by James B. Quinn (1843-1915), a lieutenant in the US Corps of Engineers and copied by engineer Sophus Haagensen (1839-1891).
