Hans Sophus Andreas Haagensen was born in 1839. He was an engineer and translator in the US Corps of Engineers. Haagensen died in 1891.

Abstract

Notes copied form field books of 1872 survey of the Merrimack River from Newburyport to Ringbold Rock. Notes were taken by James B. Quinn (1843-1915), a lieutenant in the US Corps of Engineers and copied by engineer Sophus Haagensen (1839-1891).
