Biography

David Fletcher Rugg was born on December 15, 1852 in Londonderry, Vermont. He started studying medicine in 1871 with William F. Eddy. He also attended medical lectures at the University of Vermont and Dartmouth Medical School. In 1876, he began the practice of medicine in Hartland, Vermont. Rugg was vice-president of the Vermont Medical Society, a member of the American Medical Association as well as health officer and superintendent of schools in Hartland. He was the father of Harold G. Rugg. He died in 1900.

Abstract

Medical notebook kept by David Fletcher Rugg (1852-1900) with accounts, recipes for remedies and medical notes. Clippings and flyers about remedies, as well as ephemera are pasted over some of the entries.
