Biography

Samuel Cumming Webster was born on June 28, 1788 in Plymouth, New Hampshire. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1808 after which he studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1812. Webster practiced in Swanzey, NH and Pymouth, NH. He was a representative to the state legislature in 1822, 1826, 1827, and 1832 and Speaker of the house in 1830. In 1832, Webster was a delegate to the National Democratic Convention and in 1833 he was appointed sheriff for Grafton County. He died on July 21, 1835.
