Biography

David Merrill was born on Sept. 8, 1798. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1821, after which he taught at Peacham Academy for one year. He went on to study divinity at Andover Theological Seminary from which he graduated in 1825. After preaching for 7 years, he was installed as pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Andover from 1835 to 1841. In 1841, he moved to Peacham to become pastor alongside the Rev. Leonard Worcester of the Congregational Church. He held this position until his death in 1850.
