Biography

Robert Bontine Cunningham Graham was born on May 24, 1852. He was a Scottish travel author and politician, liberal MP for North West Lanarkshire, first president of the Scottish Labour Party and, later, the Scottish National Party. He died on March 20, 1936.

The collection contains correspondence with various personal friends and literary associates containing discussions of Scottish politics in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as essays and speechesa and the handwritten manuscript and typescript of his biography of Francesco Solano Lopez.
