Hubbard, Henry, 1784-1857
Biography
Henry Hubbard was born on May 3, 1784 in Charlestown, New Hampshire. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1803 after which he studied law and was admitted to the bar around 1806. Hubbard began practicing law in Charlestown. From 1829 to 1835, he was a member of the State House of Representatives and a Senator from New Hampshire for 1835 to 1841. In 1842, Hubbard became governor of New Hampshire, a position he held until 1844. Hubbard died on June 5, 1857.
