Biography

Born in 1898, Robert Choate entered Harvard in 1916 before going to France to fight in World War I. After the war, Choate began working as a reporter for the Boston Herald. In 1940, he was named the editor and publisher of the Boston Herald and Traveler. He was active in the state Republican Party and in the creation of the newspaper’s television channel. He died in 1963 at the age of 65.
