Biography

Bushrod Washington Hinkley was born on March 12, 1803 in Thetford, Vermont. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1823 and was a lawyer and a member of the Maine Legislature from 1832-1834, State Counciler from 1838-1839 and Director of Customs for the Penobscot District in Maine from 1849-1869. Hinkley died on December 17, 1869.
