Biography
George H. Colton was born on December 9, 1914 in Springfield, Massachusetts and received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth in 1935. He returned to Dartmouth in 1945 to help run the Alumni Fund and the class gifts committee. Colton retired after 36 years at the College with the title of vice president, alumni affairs and development. He died on July 26, 2007.

The oral history interview of George Colton is comprised of audiocassette recordings and an indexed transcript of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Jane L. Carroll in February 1997. The entire interview runs for approximately two hours and covers his undergraduate years at the college as well as the administrations of John Dickey and John Kemeny, and his work in the alumni and development office.
