Biography

John Hurd was born on Nov. 2, 1899 in Boston, Ma. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1923 and received an AM from Harvard in 1924 and a BA from Oxford in 1927. He was hired by the English Department at Dartmouth as an instructor in 1927. He retired as Professor of English Emeritus in 1964. John Hurd died in 1978 in Hanover, NH.
