Biography

Alma Gilbert-Smith, author and Maxfied Parrish enthusiast. Gilbert-Smith has written numerous pieces on Parrish and his works including "Maxfield Parrish: The Masterworks" and "The Make Believe World of Maxfield Parrish and Sue Lewin". In the 1980’s and '90's Gilbert-Smith was involved in a number of publicized and suspect dealings in the art world, including accusations of selling Parrish fakes and abusing the non-profit status of a short-lived museum run out of her home in New Hampshire. Gilbert-Smith has also been involved in prominent legal disputes with the estate of Maxfield Parrish and other art dealers.
