Biography
Russell R. Larmon was born on March 6, 1897, in Red Oak, Indiana. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1919. Following his graduation, he served as secretary to Dartmouth College President Ernest Martin Hopkins while earning his master's degree at the Tuck School of Business. In 1922, he became President Hopkins' executive assistant and in 1926, was named the Benjamin Ames Kimball Foundation Professor of Administration, a position he held until his retirement in 1963. Actively involved in state and federal politics, Larmon was appointed Assistant Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare by President Eisenhower in 1953. He died on January 5, 1973.
