Biography

Robert Kilmarx was born on May 21, 1928, was raised in Scarsdale, New York, attended St. Paul's School and matriculated at Dartmouth with the class of 1950, Tuck 1951. He received his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School, followed by two years of Naval duty. He then spent ten years practicing law in Boston. In 1965 he moved to Providence Rhode Island to begin a career in banking with Industrial National Bank, now Fleet Bank. Kilmarx joined the Dartmouth Board of Trustees in 1972 and served for ten years.
