Biography

Seaver Peters was born on August 10, 1932 outside of Boston, Massachusetts. He was recruited to play hockey for Dartmouth and graduated with the Class of 1951. His father and brother were Dartmouth alumni. He was part of the Air Force ROTC while an undergraduate and following graduation, joined the military for two years. He returned to Dartmouth in 1959 and after serving as an assistant director of athletics and as assistant comptroller in the comptroller's office, he was named Athletic Director in 1967. He served in that position until his retirement in 1983.

Scope and Contents

The oral history interview of Seaver Peters is comprised of audiocassette recordings and an indexed transcript of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Daniel Daily on May 23, 2001. The entire interview runs for approximately two hours and covers his undergraduate years and career at Dartmouth working in the athletic department and serving under three presidents.
