Biography

James C. Strickler was born on June 16, 1927 in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania. He attended Dartmouth as a member of the Class of 1950, after spending eighteen months in the U.S. Maritime Service. He entered Dartmouth as a member of the last mid-year class that was admitted in February of 1947 and attended Dartmouth Medical School when it was a two-year program. He completed his medical training at Cornell Medical School in 1953. Dr. Strickler returned to Dartmouth in 1967 as associate dean of the medical school and was named dean in 1973. He retired from Dartmouth in 1981.

Scope and Contents The oral history interview of James C. Strickler is comprised of audiocassette recordings and an indexed transcript of the recordings.
