Biography
Ruth Doan was born on a chicken farm in Laconia, NH. After attending Bennington College and graduating from Keene State College with her husband, Don MacDougall, Ruth started her career as a writer. She has published eleven novels, including the national bestseller, "The Cheerleader", which became a Book-of-the-Month Club selection and was made into an NBC sitcom plot. MacDougall published sequels to the novel, including "Snowy" and "Henrietta Snow". Doan MacDougall is a member of the New Hampshire Magazine Council of Advisors and periodically updates the hiking guidebooks of her father Daniel Doan. She lived with her husband in England and Boston before returning to Center Sandwich, New Hampshire, where the MacDougalls currently reside.
