TUCK SCHOOL INVESTITURE 6/8/96; "Original Program Tape information--These tapes contain the direct program output of the MCET Production truck. They include all graphic elements introduced into the program (titles, lower thirds, etc). Tape one also contains the entire march onto Tuck Green. Audio Problems: Just prior to the start of the recording an audio problem was found with F0&M's feed to the productiont truck. An attempt was made to use wireless microphones in place of the feed. The first 15 minutes of the tape have uneven and inconsistent audio tracks (the audio cuts in and out). It was finally established that we would record the FO&M feed to track 1 and the wireless outputs to track 2. Also the opening remarks of Dean Danos were interrupted when FO&M unexpectedly pulled our feed during the comments. The final edited program attempts to cover this. Video Problems: During the start of the program recordings the video was mis-routed to the record deck. There are about 4 1/2 minutes of black or the absence of video near the end of seating and the opening remarks. Hi8 information: Since the department does not own a BetaSp or Betacam playback device, two dubs were made of the two original production reels. These tapes have the same problems as listed above. The audio tracks were dubbed to separate channels. The SVHS and Hi8 dubs contain both reels one and two including the overlap recorded on program two. The timecode is identical to the original. Final Edit tape information: This tape attempts to fix all the problems listed above. The opening is a quick compilation of the march onto the Tuck Lawn. The missing video on the original program has been added from the clean recording. The audio buzz from FO&M feed has been reduced through equalization. Starting Time Code 14:32:09:15.
