Description
Contains two manuscripts, “Uncle John Fiddler and Cutshin Trip” and “Diary of Marion Mackaye: Pine Mountain Summer, 1921,” which highlight the Mackaye’s trip to Kentucky Mountain. There is a scrapbook of the Kentucky Mountain travels accompanying these manuscripts. Also, the box contains Arvia Mackaye’s passport, a copy of “The Evidence of Immortality” by Jerome Anderson from 1899, assorted plays by Anne Hempstead Branch and collection of linoleum printing plates. Furthermore, the box generally contains correspondence, published writings in newspapers and otherwise about Mackaye, poetry in Mackaye’s hand, photographs, and Mackaye’s personal notebooks.
