Contains personal and scientific correspondence covering the entirety of his professional career including teaching positions, war service and consulting, Dartmouth College related issues and Hull’s textbook, “Elementary Modern Physics”. Correspondents of note: Albert Einstein, Robert Millikan, Ernest Rutherford, and Waldemar Kaempffert. Letters from numerous heads and staff members of physics departments of leading colleges and universities and technical staff members of such laboratories as General Electric Research Laboratory and the Bell Telephone Laboratory are also included. Additional correspondents of note are described in the scope and contents of the file listings. Notes, reports, blueprints, vouchers and materials attached to specific correspondence have been maintained with the letters and can be found in this series.
