Contains correspondence, writings, notebooks, clippings, a scrapbook and photographs related to Schulberg's interest in boxing, his 70th birthday and his book "Swan Song." Of note are his handwritten notes related to Muhammad Ali, some of which he took while being in Ali's training camp in Zaire. In addition, the collection contains letters from famous and not so famous friends gathered by Betsy Schulberg for a scrapbook on the occasion of Schulberg's 70th birthday. Contributors include Elia Kazan, Norman Mailer, Kurt Vonnegut, Frank Capra and many others. Photographs for "Swan Song" were taken by Schulberg's third wife, Geraldine Brooks.
