Description

Bunker wall is being built at fire suport base Pershing. Empty mortar and artillery shell boxes are filld with dirt and stacked against at imber frame. Sand bags would be piled against the dirt filled bunker's exterior. The bunkers provided living space for soldiers at a firebase. Snakes and insects were also occasional occupants. The monkey was a 2/12th battalion pet with a mean disposition. Comment on back of photo: "Who's in charge here?
