Description
A mechanised infantry company was equipped with M113 armored personnel carriers (APC) which could drive through the hedgerows seen in this photo. Note the infantrymen riding on top of the APCs which gave them greater protection from booby traps and allowed them to get off the carriers in a hurry. Non-mechanised infantry moved by truck, foot, or helicopter.; Location: North of Cu Chi, South Vietnam; photo by Jeff Hinman '68
