Description

Connie Stevens sang the 1969 hit "Wedding Bell Blues" during the '69 Bob Hope show. This is about a woman pleading her man Bill to marry her. So, Connie asked anyone named Bill to join her on stage. Infantryman Bill "Snuffy" Gupser got up on stage and put on a good show. Notes about Bill Gupser, 2/12th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division: He was one of the five men whow ere not killed or seriously wounded in a firefight. He was awarded the Silver Star, 3 Army commendation medals (2 for valor), a Bronze star for Valor, a Vietnamese cross of Gallantry with palm, and an air medal.
