Description
Bob Marks was an infantryman in company D, 2/505 Infantry, 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division. After contracting malaria, he was given a job in the company rear area. After his service in Vietnam, Bob Marks returned to Nantucket and became refuge manager of Coskata-Coatue Wildlife Refuge, Nantucket and Deputy Federal Game Warden. Bob Marks was very involved in the efforts to save Nantucket wildlife following a spill of 7.6 million gallons of oil from the tanker argo merchant.
