Part of Iconography 1668: Jeff Hinman Vietnam Conflict photographs and slides

  • Staff Only

Description

I had been in Vietnam for almost 2 months when this photo was taken. Most of our time was spent setting up night ambushes without ever making contact with the enemy. What few casualties we had were from booby traps. One of the company's platoons lost about 5 men when some VC got into its night ambush position and slit their throats. THe VC did their work quickly and were never caught.; Location: Southwest of Saigon, platoon base; photo by A platoon mate of Jeff Hinman '68
