Jeff Hinman's rifle, helmet and blouse, 8/1/1969

 Item, Object: 261, Box: 2
Part of Iconography 1668: Jeff Hinman Vietnam Conflict photographs and slides

The inscriptions on my helmet cover were "On the wole, I'd rather be in Philadelphia, W.C. fields" "Dulce et decorum est pro patri mori…but not here" That inscription was based on the Wilfred Owen poem from WWI. The inscription on the helmet band is a misquote.; Location: Southwest of Saigon; photo by Jeff Hinman '68
