Description
My correspondent partner Jim Williams had discovered an olympic size swimming pool at Tan Son Nhut. We got to swim in it a few times during scrounging trips to Tan Son Nhu. We scrounged photo paper and photochemicals from an air force photo reconnaissance unit in exchange for army C-rations which the air force men liked for snacks. That swilling pool was the example of extreme differences in living conditions for personnel in rear areas and those of troops in the field and firebases.; Location: Tan Son Nhut Air base near Saigon, Vietnam
