The collection contains 16 letters from arctic aviator and explorer Umberto Nobile to Mrs. Harriet Lund of San Francisco, CA. The letters thank Mrs. Lund for her gifts and kind letters over a number of years (1920-1933) and allude in a very few places to a sadness concerning his tragic Italia expedition. A few letters are from Nobile's daughter Maria and wife Carlotta.
