Description
Series contains letters sent between 1889 and 1891 by several managers of the Dartmouth Football Association to several managers of the Harvard Football Association concerning scheduling of games between the two associations. However, the majority of this series consists of correspondence between the Dartmouth Athletic Directors William H. McCarter and Robert "Red" Rolfe and the athletic directors and councils of colleges, universities, secondary schools, and other institutions with whom the Dartmouth College Athletic Council (DCAC) scheduled athletic events. The corresponcence is divided into two groups. The first group contains information on contracts for events, travel arrangements and itineraries, rooms and meals for Dartmouth and opponents' visiting teams, ticket reservations, and assignment of referees and officials. It is arranged alphabetically by name of the institutions with which there was scheduling correspondence. The second group of correspondence deals with Dartmouth team scheduling for the academic years 1955–1956 to 1958–1959, but also includes earlier correspondence that deals with advanced scheduling for those years. Also included in the second group are team rosters, press guides, weekly team standings, and final team records per season. The second group is arranged alphabetically by Dartmouth sports team.
