Description
Grimes Prize: Competition for the Grimes Prize is open to undergraduates classified as Seniors. Any form of writing except plays may be submitted. No contestant may submit more than three manuscripts but a group of short poems may be considered as one manuscript if so designated; Lookwood Prize: Competition for the Lockwood Prize is open to undergraduates classified as Juniors. Any form of writing except plays may be submitted. No contestant may submit more than three manuscripts but a group of short poems may be considered as one manuscript if so designated; Academy of American Poets Prize: The Academy of American Poets Prize ($ 100) is offered for the best poem submitted to the English/Creative Writing Department; Alexander Laing Memorial Writing Award: The Alexander Laing Memorial Writing Award ($175) will be given to an undergradute for the "best manuscript of original poems"; The Hardy-Skilling Prize: The Hardy-Skilling Prize ($600) will be awarded to the student who has shown extraordinary promise in the writing of prose or poetry; Only Dartmouth udnergraduates may submit manuscripts.
