Knut Schmidt-Nielsen, James B. Duke Professor of Physiology Duke University; Dr. Schmidt-Nielsen is a world-renowed physiologist and an expert on the adaptations of animals to various environments, especially the desert. He is the author of "Desert Animals," as well as of the widely used textbook, "Animal Physiology." In this lecture, he will consider not only physiological adaptations but also the extent to which deserts might be utilized to meet some of today's pressing problems; Monday 12 May 1980 at 8:00pm in Kellog Auditorium, Dartmouth Medical School; Public invited; no admission charge.
