Purpose: To help individuals concerned about acid rain build skills and gain information necessary to help make acid rain a national priority. Box 134-A, Hanover, NH 603-643-6525; Highlights: Morning 9 am to noon "Election Issue Project, The Project: What is it? How can you help? The Media: How can you use it effecively? Legislation: What is it? What do youy want? Candidates: What are their positions? (Staff role play as candidates to demonstrate differences in positions on acid rain.); Afternoon 1 pm to 5 pm "Skill Building" Developing Working Relationships: Write letters to or visit your elected officials through role playing, Volunteer Recruiting: Getting others involved, Developing the Issue: How do we make acid rain a national priority? Networking: A plan for local action; Sponsors: The Sierra Club and the Environmental Studies Division of the D.O.C.
