Indigenous Alumni 2
Description
Contains reprints of articles from the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, "The American Indian Review" and "Indian Record" newsletters, clippings, and printed material on the history of Indigenous students at Dartmouth College. The language in most of the articles written between 1929 and 1980 uses stereotypical terminology, and the views on Indigenous people are romanticized which is representative for the time period. Letters of inquiry from the 1950s-1980s regarding those students are also included. A computer printed list of "Native American Alumni," dated June 1998 can also be found within. It also contains a 1982 press release about an Alaskan Native Dartmouth medical student.
