Location: PK 17, Rear Area for our advisory team, 34th Vietnamese Artillery Battalion, and ARVN 3rd Regiment of 1st Division located adjoining Highway 1. PK 17 abbreviation for point kilometre. Located 17 km north of Hue, South Vietnam.
Scope and Contents
Vietnamese battalion rear area kitchen. With no refrigeration, all meat was live and then prepared just prior to cooking. Produce was fresh, and of course rice was prepared. I ate with my counterparts enjoying the food. This kitchen prepared our Christmas feast in 1968.
