An extensive collection of field notes written by or given to Gordon Day. These include 29 notebooks detailing Gordon Day's travel to and from the Odanak community at Saint Francis in Canada (including routes taken, weather, personal interactions on the road), transcription notes, an index on audio reels, and more. Other notebooks contain more formal translations from English or French to Abenaki in a dictionary style. These vocabulary notebooks contain further discretional notes about interactions with Indigenous speakers concerning disputed word meanings or pronunciations.
