John Amsden Preservation Copy Tape 2 (Side A)
Description
The oral history interview of John Amsden is comprised of two audiocassette recordings and a tape log of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Arthur Wilson on Oct. 2, 1974. The entire interview runs for approximately one and a half hours. Amsden describes his experience as a Dartmouth undergraduate and in the Student Army Training Corps (SATC). He also describes his role with the Committee Advisory to the President, serving on the Trustees Planning Committee's Advisory on Plant development, Hopkins Center Planning Committee, Hanover School, Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital boards, and the Town Planning Board. Discusses changing faculty tenure standards, as well as faculty-trustee relationships. Amsden speaks about colleagues and administrators including: Don Morrison, John Wolfenden, Walter Stocmeyer, James Richardson, Fletcher Low, and Hanover resident John Stebbins.
