The oral history interview of Allen Foley is comprised of two audiocassette recordings and a tape log of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Arthur Wilson on Oct. 7 and 11, 1974 in Norwich, VT. The entire interview runs for approximately two hours. Professor Foley describes student life at Dartmouth and the impact of WWI. He describes the organization of the History Department and his colleagues: Ambrose Vernon, William Ballard, John Turkevich, Arthur Jensen, Gordon Hull, Fred Parker, Louis Stilwell, Don Morrison. He talks about the impact of WWII on the campus. He describes the Great Issues course, educational philosophy and research and scholarship. He also talks about Foley House. He mentions Tom Bresnehan, Professor Lingley, and Captain Keene.
