The oral history interview of Richard Goddard is comprised of three audiocassette recordings and a tape log of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Arthur Wilson from Oct. 17 to Oct. 24, 1977 in Norwich, VT. The entire interview runs for approximately three hours. Professor Goddard talks about his undergraduate activities, working his way through Dartmouth, his WWI service, and his Arctic travels. He describes the relationship between astroomy, physics, and math; the Observatory, the Outing Club, and the Ravine Lodge. He also discusses the Athletic Department and football, and the firing of football couch Tuss McLaughry. He mentions various individuals associated with the Athletic Department: Minnie Crosby, "Red" Rolfe, and Doggie Julian. He also mentions John Poore and Jack Bowler.
