The oral history interview of John Hurd is comprised of two audiocassette recordings and a tape log of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Arthur Wilson on June 20, 1975 Hanover, NH. The entire interview runs for approximately one and a half hours. Professor Hurd describes his commitment to and style of teaching: He talks about the English Department, some of the tensions, and the faculty: David Lambuth, James McCallum, Sidney Cox, Steams Morse and Louis Connell. He provides his impressions of student and alumni attitudes towards President Hopkins and Dickey. He discuses College and community architect Frederick Lassen and Baker Library. Hurd also talks about his experiences with the Alumni Magazine, and discusses some of the alumni issues.
