Maurice Mandelbaum Access Copy Tape 2

The oral history interview of Maurice Mandelbaum is comprised of two audiocassette recordings and a tape log of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Arthur Wilson on Aug. 6, 1976 in Hanover, NH. The entire interview runs for approximately two hours. Professor Mandelbaum talks about anti-semitism in the academic world and in undergraduate life and also talks about diversity in the student body. He assesses Hopkins' administration, teaching at Dartmouth in the 1930s, Morrison as Dean, and the disagreement over tenure promotion policy. He also assesses Dickey's administration, and the problems with year-round operations. He also discusses the nature of Dartmouth students and the growth of interest in Philosophy.
