Salmon River Highway: Correspondence and other materials, 1924 - 1926

The collection documents the work of the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads to construct highways in what was then the territory of Alaska. Materials include correspondence, reports (several including photographs), financial statements, location survey estimates, and other documents. Correspondence is largely between Bureau engineers, contractors, and lawyers. Most of the material pertains to the Tongass Highway and the Salmon River Highway. Other highways are represented only by final construction reports.
