Description
The oral history interview of John Gazley is comprised of two audiocassette recordings and a tape log of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Arthur Wilson on Oct. 15, 1974 in Hanover, NH. The entire interview runs for approximately one and a half hours. Professor Gazley describes his education and liberal background. He talks about the History Department and his colleagues: Lewis Stilwell, Al Foley, Roy Foster, James Richardson, Chales Lingley. He discusses curriculum reform and the development of an international relations major. He also discusses the American Defense Dartmouth Group, the World Federation, and some of the organizations' members: Charlotte Ford Morrisson, Alice Weymouth, Duane Squires, Leland Goodrich. He describes White Church, the Tucker Fellowship, and the roles taken by Ambrose Vernon, Roy Chamberlain, Fred Berthold, Jim Cuseck, Bradley Watson, Frances Childs, and Arthur Meserve.
