The collection contains Lawrence Burpee's manuscripts of the introduction and appendix to his book "Journals of the Yukon," focusing on the western fur trade and exploration during the 19th century as well as information from the journals including letters of Robert Campbell, Alexander Hunter Murray and John Bell. The manuscript for "Letters of John Bell is also included.

Lawrence Johnstone Burpee (1873-1946), Canadian librarian, historian and author. Consist of manuscripts of two books entitled "Letters of John Bell" and "Journals of the Yukon," which focus on the western fur trade and exploration during the 19th century.
