William L. Brent letter
Description
Three-page letter from William L. Brent in Pomonkey, Maryland to Daniel Webster in Boston, Massachusetts in which he complains bitterly that a previous letter was confidential and should not have been shown to others. One person, Mr. Letcher, refused to return it to addressee and tool it to Kentucky. Writer demands a satisfactory explanation. Includes copy of Mr. Webster's reply of May 9, 1831: Writer felt that Brent's letter was not so confidential as to forbid its communication to others, explains Letcher's actions.
