Encyclopedia Arctica papers
Description
The "Encyclopedia Arctica" papers contain manuscripts, correspondence, bibliographies and indexes of reference works related to northern arctic and subarctic regions. Four sets of the manuscript were in existence in 1954; three under the care of the Navy and one in the Stefansson Collection. In 1970, a microfilm was produced and is available for consultation; however, the manuscript in the Stefansson Collection includes additional material -- never filmed. A 12-volume set, bound in blue cloth, is also held in the Stefansson Collection.
