Description
The collection contains reports and correspondence between Palmer W. Roberts, U.S. Navy officials, and others concerning the health problems and housing of the Iñupiat people of Point Barrow, Alaska (referred to as "Eskimos") and their suitability as oil field laborers. The US Navy was interested in improving the housing and health of the Point Barrow Iñupiat so that their labor could be exploited in the petroleum industry.
