Description
The collection contains the manuscript of "Rediscovering the Arctic" by Muriel Haynes, as well as some correspondence between Haynes and Stefansson and Haynes and Gretchen Switzer. The book was submitted to Gretchen Switzer of the publications program of Horace Mann School, Teachers College at Columbia University. It was intended for the use of high-school students and is based on Vilhjalmur Stefansson's account of how to survive in the Arctic from his book "The Friendly Arctic."
