Letters from Bernhard August von Lindenau in Dresden and Altenburg to George Ticknor in Boston, asking Ticknor not to mentions the (unnamed) permission he has been granted and thanks him for books. Asks about the chancees of war or peace and telling him that his duties do not permit him to visit with Ticknor. Mentions the new King of Prussia and the differences between European and American governments. In French, German and Enlish.
