The correspondence of Vilhjalmur Stefansson contains personal as well as professional correspondence chronicling his life, writings, research and expeditions. They include manuscripts, clippings, catalogues, bills and receipts as well as canceled checks and bank statements. Of note are his extensive correspondence with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the author Fannie Hurst, and explorer Robert E. Peary's daughter Marie Stafford Peary as well as with the Lomen Brothers of Nome, Alaska and many other scientific as well as creative leaders of his time.
